Southwest is one of Detroit’s most culturally-rich and vibrant communities, with three languages — Spanish, Arabic, and English — regularly spoken on its streets. Strong schools, strong families, and an embrace of working across differences set the Southwest community apart. Munger Elementary School, Starfish Family Services, and Matrix Head Start are just some of the groups that anchor this neighborhood and are coming together to put children first. Nestled between Bienek Park and Dingeman Park, this Brilliant Detroit hubs also the home office for much of our team, hosting a wide range of programming and piloting new efforts that we hope to scale citywide.
