The Chandler Park neighborhood surrounds the more than 200-acre regional park from which the community gets its name — a true jewel of Detroit’s East Side. Beautiful trees and single-family homes dot the main thoroughfare of Chandler Park Drive and families can be seen walking to and from the massive park. Many efforts have been made by neighbors to beautify businesses by planting and mulching flowers and trees. Complete with a variety of community assets — including the Chandler Park Healthy Initiative, SNAP-Ed interventions, local schools, and five Head Start programs — Chandler Park is a dynamic community that is focused on education. Brilliant Detroit was invited into Chandler Park by the Eastside Community Network, which has stewarded our process of neighborhood engagement with the Chandler Park Neighborhood Association, the District 4 Managers and City Council Representative, and neighbors. We are grateful for all their support that led to our Chandler Park Hub.
