Boynton is Detroit’s southernmost neighborhood, situated just south of the River Rouge, within the city’s pocket of heavy industrial development. The area is often referred to as the “dogleg” and is lively, vibrant, and studded with Boynton landmarks such as Kemeny Recreation Center and family-owned and operated roller skating rink, Rollercade. In 2019, Kemeny Recreation Center underwent a $9.5 million renovation, emphasizing the neighborhood’s commitment to community and togetherness, as well as creativity and athleticism.
