The Pontiac Story

We are thrilled to be joining hands with caring partner organizations, local officials, and neighbors to bring our model of Kid Success to the Pontiac community. While close to Detroit, Pontiac has its own thriving culture, and a long and rich history, as it was the first inland settlement in Michigan. In 1820, when Oakland County was formed, Pontiac was designated as the county seat. Pontiac was an epicenter of automotive manufacturing in the early to mid-20th century, including the production of the Pontiac brand from General Motors. The city features many notable Michigan landmarks, including the northern end of Woodward Avenue, which was the first paved roadway in the country. We look forward to deepening our relationships in Pontiac and expanding our impact together.
