March’s Top Ten Books episode is here! In this series produced in collaboration with the Detroit Public Library (DPL), children’s librarians share their top book recommendations for families with young children. Released as a video featuring a local DPL librarian and as a book list, you can find the monthly Top Ten Book list here on Brilliant Detroit’s website and at Brilliant Detroit hubs.
Our latest video in the series features Ms. Ali, Assistant Manager at DPL’s Knapp Branch. She selected ten titles that showcase the celebration of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. As Ramadan is tied to the lunar calendar and moon cycle, it does not occur at the same time every year according to the solar calendar. In 2025, Ramadan began on February 28th and will end on March 30th with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. If you are curious to learn more about how Ramadan is observed, check out some of Ms. Ali’s selections!
